Specifics of feline nutrition
Cats have a number of differences on part of the digestion system and metabolism. 95% of problems and misunderstandings between pet owners and pets occur not because of the animals but because the humans do not fully understand them. Let’s take a look at the most commonplace issues and problems concerning feline nutrition, which can be easily avoided.
Cats may go to their food bowl more than twenty times a day
It’s quite normal that a cat does not eat up its ration at once, so you should not blame it or try to change its eating behavior. A specific feature of cats is their metabolism, which is equally intensive throughout the day. They do not have clearly expressed phases of being asleep or awake. For cats, it’s quite normal to be in a deep sleep in daytime or nighttime, and then, all of a sudden, friskily play in the room.
For this type of metabolism and biorhythms, the best way is to eat small rations during daytime and nighttime, in order to evenly spread energy reserves according to the animal’s needs. By leaving some food in the bowl for the night, you will save yourself the trouble of undesired awakening in wee hours to heed the cat’s demand for food.
If your pet is capricious, do not leave the bowl filled with food but add some food to it from time to time, to make sure that the pet can eat whenever it feels like eating.
The owners of capricious pets often face the following problem. When they leave the full daily ration in the bowl at once, by evening their cat loses interest in this food and wants to eat something different. Do not throw away the food and refill the bowl again to the rim, because the cat won’t eat it up. From time to time during the day, add some fresh food in the bowl from the zipped-up bag. This way, the bowl’s contents won’t be weathered and the capricious pet won’t lose interest in this food. Sometimes, you should somewhat change your attitude and the schedule of daily care rituals – this way, you will easily overcome the problem you thought is impossible to solve.

If you have several pets living in your home, there could be problems with feeding them: one eats too much, while the other doesn’t have enough. How to deal with it?
The first golden rule of cat owners: the number of all cat’s items must be one more than the number of cats. Food bowl, water bowl, toilet, cat mat, scratcher. These items are individual not because humans want it so. Cats also can regard them as their property, and quarrel because someone else uses their property.
The position it occupies in the membrane prevents the contact between oxygen. As for the food bowl, if it’s only one, it happens sometimes that cats yield to each other, but more often it’s the other way round: some eat too much, while others not enough. If you have several pets, it could be hard to control how much food they ate. If you have a pet that needs to lose some weight, even if it eats holistic foods, we recommend temporarily dividing the territory in your house until the cat reaches the normal weight. For competition can play the key role in a situation with several pets, and your attempts to “shed” the cat’s weight will end up in nothing. That’s not the problem of balance of nutrients in food – that’s the psychology of competition.
You have to learn to hear and understand your pets, and we will gladly help you with that.
You opened a fresh can of food: the first time, your cat enthusiastically ate its ration, but on the second try, no longer wanted to eat that food.
First of all, you should bear in mind how you store the opened can. If your pet does not eat up the can’s entire contents at once, you should put the remaining food into another container. The best option is a plastic container for food or a jar with a lid – anything nonmetallic, which can be tightly closed.

If you leave canned food in a metal jar, the food will become weathered, crusty and lose its taste and smell. And also, canned food stored this way is likely to get spoiled faster.
That’s how you can try to negotiate a deal with your capricious cat.
